Weekend in the Wild

February 2010

Friday afternoon and the first group hit the road out to Seskoppies. Arriving to a warm welcome, the tents were pitched, glasses filled and fires were started as the sun settled on the horizon.

The first evening’s braai ended in much revelry and as the clock neared midnight so people hit the sack (some staggered, some dove and others crawled).

Friday Night

Saturday Morning & a spot of Bowling!

The next group arrived shortly after sunrise on Saturday, in time to try out the Seskoppies green. The Akadisse took on the Vierkoppies and by the 10th and final end the scores were level at 8 shots each. The camp site was beckoning though and as the next group arrived we made our way down to the water hole.

A quick brunch of steak and eggs had us ready for a day of sports; swimming, tackling the foofy slide, mud fights and a game of cricket. While some lazed on the water others had a bokdrol spitting competition and even a dare-devil cliff dive.

Let the games begin ...

The day comes to an end

As the day drew to a close the fires were light once again. Freshly baked bread, braai buns and succulent lamb chops were on the menu as we settled into a night of chatting under the stars.

Sunday was a mellow affair as most were packing up and heading home. Those that stayed enjoyed a lunch of potjiekos and managed to squeeze in another swim.

Once again a big thank you to Johan and Patrys, it was a weekend that will be remembered for a long time.
