The Club's Mixed Drawn Fours was held over the past weekend.

Sixteen players had entered from which four teams were drawn, a good turn out considering members only had two days notice (the competition was originally scheduled to only take place in three weeks time, but was brought forward to accommodate a late change to the Association's calendar).

An exciting encounter in the first round saw Johan Jacobs (Ken Morland, Babs vd Merwe, Moolman van Zyl) take on Graham Snyman (Marie vd Merwe, Sandra Snyman, Antoinette du Plooy). Going into the last end Snyman was up 14-13, but as the skips headed to the mat Jacobs was holding a two-shot advantage (and game). Snyman managed to draw the second shot and seemed satisfied with a peeled result. Jacobs had other ideas, but in his attempt at wresting Snyman's bowl he inadvertently nudged the jack and saw Snyman pick up the shot and a win.
In the other first round game Jean Joubert (Charlotte Morland, Des vd Smit, Maureen Sadler) beat Sandy Joubert (Henriette Partridge, Avril Kotze, Piet du Plooy).

In Round two Snyman's team had a comprehensive victory over Sandy Joubert's four, while Jean Joubert beat Johan Jacobs.

The final round was to be the decider, both Graham and JJ having won all the previous games. Although JJ's team put up a valiant effort it was not enough as team Snyman sailed to victory.

Congratulations to Graham, Miele, Sandra and Antoinette on winning the Club's Mixed Drawn Fours!
JJ, Charlotte, Des and Maureen coming in as runners-up.
