The Club's annual Trips Tournament, now firmly established as the premier bowling event in Namibia, reached a dramatic conclusion late Saturday afternoon.

With the National Players having just returned from the African States Tournament and World number 9, Andrew Todd (New Zealand), among the entries, competition was bound to be tough.

At the end of the first day 'Djou ma' were lying top of the leader board, defending champions 'Loose Ends' second, 'Jack Hunters' third and hot favourites 'Polynesian Stars' fourth.

The sections were re-drawn for day Two, with the top seeds following day one each in a different section. Top gainers of the day were the 'Polynesian Stars', 'Three Headless Chickens' and 'GCM', while 'Loose Ends' and the 'Jack Hunters' fell from contention.

Day 3 was played strength-versus-strength. It may have been nearing the end of Winter, but the temperature was sweltering and the bowls blistering as the big names turned on the heat in the final rounds.

The 'Polynesian Stars' suffered their first defeat to eventual runners-up 'Djou ma', but quickly made amends with a comprehensive victory over 'Three Headless Chickens'.
'Pink, Pretty and I' (2009 winners) left the best to last with three great wins from the final three rounds, catapulting them into third place overall.

Congratulations to the 'Polynesian Stars' (Andrew Todd, Diana Viljoen and Steven Peake) on winning the tournament.

The tournament was made possible though the generosity of Sanlam Namibia and the efforts of the Club members. Thank you all!
